Effective for product version terms v1
Terms of use
These terms apply to your use of IELTS Mate ("the service"), including when you sign in with Google and when you submit essays for automated feedback.
1. What the service does
The service provides practice tools and AI-generated commentary on IELTS Writing Task 2-style essays. It is intended for self-study and preparation only.
2. Not official IELTS scoring
Feedback, band-style scores, and inline comments are produced by software (including large language models). They are not an official assessment from the British Council, IDP, Cambridge English, or any other IELTS test owner or administrator. They must not be presented as official results.
3. Accuracy and limitations
AI systems can misunderstand prompts, misread your text, or produce incorrect, incomplete, or inconsistent advice. You are responsible for how you use the output. For high-stakes decisions, seek a qualified human teacher or official preparation materials.
4. Your account and eligibility
You must provide accurate sign-in information and keep your account secure. You may not use the service to break the law, harass others, or attempt to compromise the service or other users' accounts.
5. Your content
You retain rights to the essays you write. By using the service you grant us the rights we need to store your submissions, run automated analysis on them, and display results back to you. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share.
6. Credits and billing
Paid features, if offered, are subject to the pricing and refund rules shown at checkout and in any separate billing terms. Free or promotional credits may change or end without notice.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of or reliance on AI-generated feedback, including exam outcomes or missed opportunities.
9. Changes
We may update these terms or the product. When we increase the required terms version in the app, you may need to accept the updated terms again before submitting essays for evaluation.
10. Contact
For questions about these terms, contact us using the support details published on the site (if any). If none are shown, use the same channel you used to reach the product team.
